Nu:Tone

Nu:Tone

Signing to Hospital Records in 2003, Nu:Tone is one of Drum & Bass’ most highly respected producers, with a vast array of classic albums and remixes reflecting his rich history in the scene.

Nu:Tone’s debut album “Brave Nu World“ dropped in 2005 followed by 2007’s perfect marriage of accelerated junglist funk and cooled-out 70s melody, “Back Of Beyond“. In 2011 Nu:Tone brought us the inspired audio-visual concept ’Words And Pictures’ LP and in 2014 he delivered the monumental ‘Future History’.

Nu:Tone remixes are always guaranteed to please – whether it’s the retro soul of his “Spread Love” anthem, the junglist wobble of his “Strictly Social” re-rub, his incredible remix of Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep” or Emeli Sande’s “Heaven”. Nu:Tone has also stripped down and reworked the likes of Professor Green, Shy FX and more, with major labels clamouring for his skills behind a mixing desk.

Not just a solo operator, Nu:Tone is a lynchpin of the Future Sound Of Cambridge crew, creating 2008’s devastating ‘Future Sound Of Cambridge 3’ LP, in collaboration with younger brother Logistics and friends Commix.

In 2013 Nu:Tone again teamed up with Logistics to produce under their Nu:Logic alias. The sum of their combined powers led to the albums ‘What I’ve Always Waited For’ and ‘Somewhere Between the Light’, which showcase a constellation of new sounds and techniques and signalled a return to the soulful Drum & Bass that was the foundation of Hospital Records.
